3rd Annual Wisconsin Biathlon Winter Festival

The Wisconsin Biathlon Association invites you to try biathlon, the Olympic
winter sport combining cross country skiing and rifle marksmanship.
No experience is needed and all abilities are welcome!
Open Race
The open race is for individuals with previous biathlon experience or those who are safety certified. The race will be sprint format consisting of an interval start and a 150 meter penalty loop. Men 7.5km, Women 6km, Junior Boys/Girls 4km.
Novice Event
The novice event is for those with limited practice time or no previous biathlon experience. This event will be 4km with one shooting stage. A safety demonstration, instruction, and practice time will take place prior to the event start. Come on out and give biathlon a try!
Schedule
Please note that scheduled times are tentative, depending on the duration of previous events. Please plan to arrive early.
- 8:15-9:00: Event Registration for Open Race
- 8:45-9:45: Zero for Open Race
- 9:15-10:45: Registration for Novice Event
- 10:00-11:00: Open Race
- 11:00-12:00: Novice Event Safety Training & Practice
- 12:00-1:30: Novice Event
- 1:30: Awards Presentation & Raffle Drawing
What to Bring
You provide the ski equipment, we’ll supply the rest.
Ages
The event is open to anyone age 11 and up.
Awards
Awards will be presented for places 1-3 in the following age classifications of both races. All entrants will also receive a participation award.

- Junior Girls/Boys (13-14)
- Senior Girls/Boys (15-16)
- Youth (17-18)
- Junior (19-20)
- Senior (21-29)
- Masters (30-39)
- Senior Master (40-49)
- Veteran Master (50+)
Raffle
All participants will be entered to win some great prizes in our fund-raising raffle drawing. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase to help support the Wisconsin Biathlon Association.
Cost
For insurance purposes, all participants are required to have a USA Biathlon membership in order to participate.
FREE: Youth ages 11-16 with current USBA annual membership
$10: Youth ages 11-16 without current USBA annual membership (free entry + $10 USBA "member for a day" license)
$10: Adult with current USBA annual membership
$20: Adult without current USBA annual membership ($10 entry + $10 USBA "member for a day" license)
Registration
All registration will be day of event only at the main parking lot shelter building. Make checks payable to Wisconsin Biathlon Association. You can download an event flyer and registration form here to bring with you.
Location
The McMiller Sports Center is located 2.5 miles south of the Village of Eagle on County Hwy NN. From Eagle, travel south on Hwy 67, turn west of County Hwy NN to the McMiller Sports Center entrance. You can get directions here.
