In order to participate in any event follow these steps.

PRACTICES:

In order to participate in any formal or informal practices at McMiller, you must have up-to-date annual memberships for both the Wisconsin Biathlon Association and a competitor level membership in the United States Biathlon Association. Participants must have also previously attended a biathlon safety certification clinic ("Red Book"). Novices or non members are welcome to attend with prior arrangements made thru email with WI Biathlon. WI Biathlon membership pays for facility, equipment costs, and supports the promotion of the sport. USBA membership is very critical because that membership provides liability insurance coverage through the USBA for the facility and the club. Also note that your presence on the trail system requires WI state park passes on your vehicle and WI state trail passes on your person.

RACES:

Formal races and Biathlon Safety Clinics are open to the public. Daily club and USBA membership costs can be covered for that day through the event fee structure (annual memberships are not required). Only biathlon certified athletes ("Red Book") will be allowed to carry a rifle on the course. Novice racers must attend scheduled novice races in order to participate in races. You become an Open athlete once you have successfully completed the biathlon safety certification process. Also note that your presence on the trail system requires WI state park passes on your vehicle and WI state trail passes on your person.
